Mr. Rami Mahmoud serves as Chief Corporate Banking Officer at Safwa Islamic Bank, having joined the Bank on 12 January 2025 as Head of Corporate Banking. He leads the Bank’s corporate banking business, with responsibility for government-related entities, large corporates, middle-market businesses, contractor financing, commercial real estate and the Iraq Desk.
Rami brings more than two decades of corporate banking experience across international, regional and local financial institutions, including Royal Bank of Canada, Qatar International Islamic Bank and Bank of Jordan. Before joining Safwa Islamic Bank, he served as Executive Manager of the Commercial Business Development Department at Bank of Jordan, with a mandate that extended to corporate clients across the bank’s overseas branches. His previous leadership roles also include serving as Chief Executive Officer of Excel Invest and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Jordan Leasing Company.
Mr. Mahmoud holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Strategic Management from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, Canada (2017). He earned the Certified Lender Business Banker designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers/American Bankers Association (ABA) in 2004. He also holds a master’s degree in Financial Management from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences (2001) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Hashemite University (1999).
